Personal Space Invader

Earlier this week me and Adam went to the Sidmouth Folk Festival with my Mum her partner and friend. I’ve been to Sidmouth almost every year since i was a child and i remember when it used to be held in one big field with added extra’s in the town. They no longer use the big field and its all in the town which is fine but doesn’t have quite the same festivally feeling about it.

We walked along the sea front to see all the stalls and watch the morris dancers. Got a few fun things the best of which were some paper rose earings in various colours - 5 for £2! There was a second hand dress which was much longer than i’d ever wear but i liked the fabric. I almost bought it so i could make it shorter and play around with it but it was £20 and that felt like alot for something i’d probably ruin…

Highlight of the night was having the opportunity to show off my brand new Jeffrey Campbell shoes which i got in the Office sale. I may have some battle scars but i think it was worth it!

Alexis Bledel is so so beautiful - not sure what film this is from… will have to investigate and watch!

This dress is Mela Loves London and i got it at Debenhams. Not sure what happened that day but i seemed to come home with bags of butterfly print clothes… The boots in the bottom picture are by Fly London (click image to make larger and see boots!) and were bought at tReds in a sale which still made them the most expensive shoes i’ve ever bought… and although i love them, the heel has already worn away so much that they’re almost unwearable. The brogues however are my sturdy yet beautiful go to shoe for comfort and class. They were from Office and i feel nothing but joy listening to the crisp click of their heel on the pavement!

The three top photos were taken at The Lost Gardens of Heligan in Cornwall. The gardens which were at their prime at the end of the 19th Century were left to decades of neglect before they began to restore it in the 1990s. Walking around some of the 200 acres i almost wish they had kept more of its wild and mysterious past from the time they refer to as ‘The Lost Years’. Regardless of this though, i still felt like Mary Lennox discovering the Secret Garden and would recomend a visit to everyone!

I think Me and Adam had been together about 6 months when we went on our Dawlish Warren excursion. It was cold and windy but i think the miserable weather makes the photos have quite a nice miserable wash! Which, i have to add, in no way reflected our time at the beach which was delightful.

Found this dress in the sale section of Off the Hook in Exeter, which is definately my favourite Exeter shop. Unfortunately the dress doesn’t have any labels in so i’ve no idea who made it… It remains, to this day, my favourite dress though.
